MM: Babylon's Burning by The Ruts

For this week's Music Monday I would like to share one of the most exciting singles of the punk rock/new wave period. Formed after meeting at the 1977 Deeply Vale Festival, The Ruts played both punk and reggae tunes becoming involved in the Rock Against Racism movement. In 1979 they released "Babylon's Burning", which reached number 7 in the UK singles chart. Here is a video of them performing that viceral tune on the BBC's Top of the Pops.

Come join Music Monday and share your songs with us. One simple rule, leave ONLY the actual post link here. You can grab this code at LadyJava's Lounge Please note these links are STRICTLY for Music Monday participants only. All others will be deleted without prejudice.

PS: Because of spamming purposes, the linky will be closed on Thursday of each week at midnight, Malaysian Time. Thank you!
